Devore O/96 vs Volti Rivals

Hi:

I am in the market for a pair of high-efficiency speakers. I will be driving them with Line Magnetic LM508ia integrated amp. Both 0/96 and Rivals happen to be Stereophile A-rated and around the same price. Can someone chime in with their personal experiences or opinion regarding this?

thanks,

The O/96s are significantly higher than the Volti Rivals (list prices for each), unless you are going with a very custom finish for the Rivals.
The Volti's are horns and O/96's are conventional box speakers as said above it's apples and oranges. Personally I've fallen pretty hard for horns but as with all things YMMV.

May I add another speaker you should consider. the Living Voice speaker line very good deals to be made due to the low UK $. I heard the set i bought (the Avatar 2's mid range of the line) beside the 0/96's and i felt the LV's were faster, more detailed and more musical then the  0/96, The 0/96 did have deeper base slightly but its base was not as fast. Mid range of the 0/96 was great but I felt the 2 smaller drivers in the LV speaker to be faster and more alive.  sound stage was about the same for both very good over all with the LV being slightly more focused with but less over all dispersion width.

I've not hear the Volti

I will say no more then to look up the Pure Audio Project  Loudspeakers neo 15 with Voxativ mid- tweeter driver and
Verastarr wire harness upgrade for under $8k a speaker that does everything well and st 95 db efficient.  The simple Leonitis 1 capacitor crossover is best I reccommrnd, and replaced capacitor myself no soldering just excellent Copper Gold plated board.
Check it out ,I sold several Loudspeakers over $10k  .These sound like real music and just disappear. Any questions email me I have been in Audio since the 70s and know what Real instruments
Should sound like . Not for head banger  jazz, rock symphony no
Problem at real SPL- levels. A lot of reviews online .
