Owners of Duntech Crown Prince still out there?

If so, I have great news for you: After 14 years of fun my Duntech Crown Prince's crossovers were recently updated by Duntech Australia by replacing all the parts that are subject to aging. Moreover, I put in 10 new drivers. Total costs were less than 2,000 USD. In 20 years I've listened to them all (Wilsons, Dynaudios, Burmesters, B&Ws, Audio Physics', Revels etc.) and I'm confident that you can't get a better speaker for less than 15,000 USD. That figure includes used models!

I owned the original Princesses (which were fully-veneered but had the Crown Prince base) for many years. At one point I had to replace some of the drivers in one of the speakers and found Duntech's service to be outstanding, in terms of price, quality (they had a precisely matched set of replacement drivers waiting for my speaker!!) and promptness (express delivery from Australia to my door). I think you made a smart move. While I can think of a few designs that might be better in one area or another, particularly transparency, the Crown Prince/Princess, as well as the Sovereign, are superb classic designs that have held up extremely well over the years because they basically do everything very well and get the midrange right. I think your $15K price point is a pretty good estimate.
still one the greatest loudspeakers at ANY price. Ironically duntech is still not distributed in the US. their pcl 25 will still compete with any of the rash of ultra expensive monitor types including wilson, lipinski, merlin and more...a legend
I owned a pair of crown prince for almost 10 years , superb sounding speakers ...The only speaker I have ever heard that sounds better to me is the Dynaudio confidence 5 .
