Yggdrasil toslink to Sonos Connect

Any one using Sonos connect with a YGGY?

I have a  Shiit YGGY due to arrive Friday afternoon.   My current streamer is a Sonos connect without the Cullen Mod.  So that's what it will be initially connected to.

What would be some better sounding source options to connect to the yggy?  If I do the Cullen mod to the Sonos does that put it equal to anything else out there.  Music steams Flac from Deezer and CDs ripped Flac stored on NAS.

Spender, Not my question but you did respond to another one of mine.  thanks for the streamer product suggestions that's what I was looking for.

Didn't you previously ask about this and the conclusion was that Deezer isn't supported by any servers except Sonos? If you trash Deezer and use Tidal then most well known streamers become an option. Depending on preference for local drive or NAS & your budget your best choices include:
Aurender
Sonore
Aurelic
Melco

Cheers,
Spencer

Why would you connect with Toslink? Sonos has an RCA out and your Yggdrasil has an RCA in, a better interface than toslink.
Completely agree. I think that jond meant using the RCA COAX to the DAC, not the analog outputs.

I have a Sonos Connect that is connected using the RCA COAX to my DAC. I tried both outputs (toslink and coax) with numerous cables and always found the RCA COAX to sound much better.

I’ve never been a fan of toslink in any application.
RCA out of the Sonos Connect  is analog.   toslink or coax is digital (PCM stream).  The DAC (yggy) requires a PCM stream.
Currently the Sonos serves as a DAC connecting to tube amp using analog RCA cables.
