Absolutely terrific. Speakers are obviously a very personal thing, with preference playing a major role, but you really ought to listen to these speakers. I have researched speakers for several years, in this price range, and have settled on the Rainmakers for my mains in a mostly-audio system. (I'll complete the 6.1 package with the Dreamcatchers from Totem, but almost all of my listening will be in two-channel with no sub.) The beauty of the Rainmakers, compared even to the Model 1 Signature, is the bass extension, like that of a full-range loudspeaker. I compared these head-to-head with Triangle's Antal floorstander and Totem's Arro floorstander, and they held their own, for less money and less space. No sub required for two-channel. You should really listen to these speakers - there is nothing in this price range (monitor or floorstander) that comes close in sound and craftmanship, except maybe the Arro. For your info, I auditioned the Rainmakers using the Cambridge Audio Azur series 640C CD player and 640A integrated amp, with Analysis Plus cables. One word of advice, though: make sure the dealer has broken these speakers in - Totem recommends several hundred hours of break-in, and they sound dreadful before they're broken in.
