Synergistic New Tesla Line...Any comments?

I just bought Synergistic Research's new Tesla Accelerator speaker cables and Tesla Vortec interconnects from The Cable Company. I have tried many demo cables from The Cable Company over the past year. These were the first to give me that WOW factor I been looking for so long.

Does anyone have these cables and can you please post your impressions and comments? Thanks.

Tbg and Bacardi

I talked with Ted and was told it's not a power cord, but speaker cables, and yes... they will be very expensive. He explained it all too me but that's way too much to understand without having a look for myself... so I'm going to RMAF just to check it out. Well that and Ted offered to buy me a drink (which will have to be water since I can't have alcohol!)

Bacardi,

How do you like your QLS anyways? Did it replace a previous power strip/conditioner? What cord do you have on it? I need something to replace my powerwedge 112 and I was thinking of a QLS-6. I'll end up with a powercell eventually I'm sure but right now I can't afford one so the QLS is it!
Tbg

dang you!!! *shakes fist* I need to finish replace the rest of (errr... my one other) MPC with a Galileo.

What do you mean by 'rethinking of your system' though? I'd like more in depth details on that thought.
They need to hire someone to finish their website! The QLS strips, along with the Quattro, aren't on there either and half the pages for the cables are incomplete.
Shellie,

Just put it in and even cold, right off the bat it was a rather noticeable difference. Much more air and imaging and wider, deeper soundstage. More body, slightly better timbre, a bit more detail, and the bass... I didn't think my mags could go any deeper or produce bass any better than they were.. but wow. And the quality is outstanding.

I only have one in the system. I put it on the Acoustic refs between the CD and preamp. Seemed like the best place for it. I'd akin it to making the move from accelerator to acoustic ref in that spot, only a bit better.

I can't wait for it to really get warmed up and get some hours on it.

Now I must have another!
Ted... you must tell me more about the Galileo MPC! Will we be able to upgrade our current MPCs to the Galileo? How much will this cost? Will current cables start shipping with the new Galileo MPC standard or will it be an option only?

Oh and I guess if you don't catch this post in time... I'll ask you in person at RMAF :)
Bacardi,

Yes! In fact we spent most of our spare time in the SR room... I 'helped' with a couple of ART demos (just removing and putting back the one bowl I was near) and then we helped Ted and crew and Philip tear down the room Sunday night. It was my favorite room of the show.

I must say the new Galileo cables are quite impressive to look at and listen to. For me it was the best sounding room at the show. I'll never be able to afford them (must buy lotto tickets....) However there will be Galileo spin-off technology such as the MPCs. There will be other things (like the transporter) but I'm not sure how much info Ted wants repeated and I probably don't remember half of it correctly anyways. Perhaps he'll chime in when he gets done sleeping off the weekend! lol ;)

I do have a new Galileo MPC and a new ART Basik system in hand though along with a teslaplex to install! I just need to get my system back up and running... it's been unplugged and unused for weeks while we've been in and out of town.

Going to get it warmed up for a few days and then swap the new MPC onto my Acoustic References first.

I think we'll be back to RMAF next year. It was the first time We'd been to a show of any kind like this and I can saw for sure it was the best fun I've had!
Oh and I must also give a HUGE thank you to Ted and Philip (and everyone else) for letting us hang out and party crash after hours and for everything else. You guys are a blast!
Ozzy... see Ted Denney's post from 9-26, a few replies up, it details the Galileo MPC. It is a new mini power coupler, hand built, heavily modified, and quantum tunneled out the wazoo, for use in the Galileo cable system. You can get them separately for use with other tesla cables, retail $400.
Jaspal,

The kit has 4 satellites and a bass station. The bowls aren't heat treated and coated like the bit ART system, they are just plain bare metal and no magnets like the big ART either. It comes with instructions and both blu-tak and velcro for mounting options.

I have the basik system I just haven't had a chance to install or play with it yet.

Bacardi... see my initial impressions for performance feedback. The $400 is for a single pair of wires.... not sure for the other wire combos?
I see. Yes I think I know what you mean. Since the Galileo and getting half of the basik system installed it's really brought to light some weaknesses in my placement of things.

I was lazy setting the system up and measured speaker placement relative to the front and sidewalls instead of to the listening position. And they aren't really measured to exactness... then the toe in... well that I eyeballed.

I really need to remedy all that.... I also need better speaker cables and power conditioning lol. No cost fixes first I guess.
Shellie... I'd try your two best interconnects and your speaker cables first. So if all you have are source to pre and pre to amp then do those.... If you have multiple sources then try either the one you listen to the most... or the one with the better cable (say if one has an Apex or reference and the other has accelerator.... put it on the higher end cable).

That's where I'd start anyways :)
Karel,

Have you tried plugging it in elsewhere to see if the buzz goes away?

Is the buzz coming from the MPC itself or through the system?

I would think if the MPC itself is buzzing then it probably needs repaired. Mine are dead silent.
Actually Der.... plugging in the MPC right side up is a matter of polarity... and as for what the cables are made of.... that info is on their website.
Ted or anyone else

what would be your choices for isolating the QLS? wood? carbon? metal? softer squishy stuff?

oh and I finally installed my teslaplex today.
FWIW there is an enigma for sale here on a'gon. Just search the classifieds for synergistic or for enigma. If I only had the money.
I compared (source to pre/pre to amp) accelerator/accelerator with acoustic ref/accelerator and went with the acoustic reference/accelerator combo.

two accelerators was nice.. very detailed and fast... but replacing the one IC with an acoustic reference gave all the same detail and 99% of the speed with a more fluid, slightly warmer, musical presentation and slightly better soundstage, better bass and midrange and slightly sweeter highs.
How broken in is that 5th Galileo? How long was it settled in position before listening? before moving it around?

Just curious as I've noticed that mine don't like being messed with or moved around... things kind of fall apart for a bit.
Merry Christmas to you all!!! Happy Holidays!

It was a very Merry Christmas for me... My husband gave me a QLS-9 and another Galileo MPC!

I want to get a different PC for the QLS... actually need more than want.... the cord that comes with it is too short putting the QLS in an awkward position.

Any recommendations? I'd love a Precision, but I'll probably be limited to a T2 or T3 unless I can find one used. I have my Ayre CD and Preamp and two MPCs plugged into the QLS.
Ted,

thank you!!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and Elliot and everyone else at SR.
Tbg.... I can confirm that yes, there will be trickle down Galileo stuff for use with any speaker cable or interconnect. I think the prices were in the 1500 range for ICs and 3000 range for speaker cables. My guess is it gets you the Galileo boxes and cable to hook up to speaker/amp whatever and you run your cable between them.
If you have any pictures of the galileo couplers could you send them to me? adwiegert @ gmail . com

I've found very few pictures of the SR room and they all just show the system with the full Galileo cables.. nothing of the trickle down stuff or anything else.

Thanks!
I got my T3 for the QLS today and did something I shouldn't have.... I decided to try it out on my amp first. Just jaw dropping! I really wanted to keep it there but the QLS needed the longer cord.

Still quite an improvement putting the T3 on the QLS as it powers my preamp and CDP... but the bad thing is.. I MUST get a T3 for my amp now

*sigh*

Can someone explain the difference between the T3 and the T3 UHC? the UHC isn't even listed on SR's website and all the info I can find on other sites just rehash the T3 info.

I did notice on thecableco that the UHC has a 20amp IEC only? yet there are options for 15amp and 20amp so I'm confused.
Shellie... do you know if it's true that the T3 UHC has a 20 amp IEC only?

This would be for an Ayre V5X-e... which has a 15amp IEC
Yes... not sure how long but probaby not as long as a brand new one... unless it's been sitting unused forever.

I'd say a week at the most.
I already know about the Galileo couplers... but what are these MIGs you speak of?

Oh and did you take any pictures? :)
I have a question about securing my QLS. The PCs for the CDP and Pre make it tilt on it's side and unstable in it's position. So I zip tied it to the rack so it's held solidly down flat against the wood.

But then I wondered if vibrations from the rack would negatively affect the sound.

Should I isolate it from the rack? put some footers or spikes on it and then zip tie it down?
Yeah I've got all my cables supported with large Cardas V-blocks. I should get some extras... then I can put the QLS on the blocks to raise it above the rack (they are taller than the racks bottom frame if stood on their end) and still strap it enough to keep it falling over while avoiding direct vibrations.
heheheheeeeee. Just got demo T2 and T3 from dealer. Even right out of the box and after having to move some other cables around to get things fitting in the right places they sound so much better than the cardas goldens.

I started with the T2 on the pre and the T3 on the CDP. We'll see how it sounds after a few days of playing. I have a 2nd T3 to try on the pre but there's plenty of warmth and detail with the T2 so it might be too much. We'll see though.

I also tried different footers under the QLS instead of having it strapped directly to the rack. No footers there is amazing detail and layering but things have a somewhat harsh edge and the bass is a tad thin. First I tried some herbie's tenderfeet. Sounded ok at first, lots of bass.. but I noticed the sound was muddied and the bass lacked detail. Next I tried some cardas blocks and things opened up more. The muddiness is gone and so is the original harsh edge, bass is deep, full bodied and detailed... however there is still some loss of the soundstage width and air.

I've ordered some ebony domes to try next.
They are new footers based off the ART system.

I'm going to give them a try when they become available for demo!
Any thoughts on T2 vs a T3 on preamp? mine are plugged into a QLS-9 with a precision on it as well. CDP has a T3 on it as does the Amp, but the amp is plugged direct into the wall.
Bacardi,

I would love love love to do that but I don't have that kind of money (hence the T series cords), especially after picking up that precision.

Right now I have the following

QLS-9 with Precision PC (CDP and Pre along with 4 MPCs plugged into the QLS)
T3 on amp into wall
Both into Teslaplex.

On loan are two T3s and a T2.

One T3 is on the CDP and I'm swapping back and forth between the T2 and T3 on the pre. We'll call this combo A.

Other options I'm considering are the following combos

Combo B

T3 on CDP
T2/T3 on pre
T3 on amp moved from wall to QLS
Precision left on QLS

Combo C

T3 on CDP
T2/T3 on pre
Precision on amp into wall
T3 on QLS

If I had the money I'd just buy a powercell 10se, a Hologram A, Hologram D and put my precision on the preamp with the T3 from the powercell to the QLS for powering the MPCs.

Anyone have suggestions?
No... because I'm using Galileo MPCs. Ted puts the quattro at the bottom sound wise... and the Galileo MPCs on a QLS with precision PC near Enigma sound quality when plugged into a powercell.
I can't figure out which to go with on the preamp! I've given both 4 days to settle before intensive listening. And now I've rigged them up so I can swap them back and forth without moving them very much.

Today I spent the past 5 hours listening to a song with one cable, swapping to the other and listening again, rinsing and repeating before moving on to another CD or song.

If I had only auditioned the T2 on the preamp I would be perfectly happy with it. But the T3 adds some things I really like... but it also adds some things I'm not sure of. It makes the T2 sound a tad thin in the midrange with a little less body and soundstage width... but the T2 makes the T3 sound overly warm at times... to the point were it's a bit closed in.

I have a headache now.
Or if it's on a rack, back it up flush with the rear of the shelf and the MPCs can hang off the back.
I'd posted this as a seperate thread and didn't get any responses.

Teslaplex and outlet covers? Anyone experimented?

The Oyaide is a bit too expensive for me.... but furutech has a carbon and brass cover and Acme has a really beautiful Ebony wood cover... then there's all the other various plastic, stainless, brass, etc.

Anyone played with these with their teslaplex?

thanks!
It's getting there. They are making an entirely new site and then switching over when it's done.
Joe,

I've got two sets on the way to demo for my CDP and Pre. How did you set yours up? dome facing up or down? one in back and two at the front or other way around?

any tips for playing with these things?
So dome up is more pin-point and dome down is more ambient? Do they come with tuning and placement tips?

My demo's won't be here until the 4th :( stupid living all the way on the other side of the country. lol
we shall soon see... I have old polycrystal shelves. I might try them on my amp too.. which is on an SRA Ohio-class xl2 stand.
I know!

I caught the site before it went live (yay google) and now I'm very very curious about those three things specifically.

I want to know all about the active wall plate and about the Galileo Basik cables! Where do they fall in the scheme of things? better than Apex but not quite full Galileo?

I also can't wait to download the master file project files.
