Spiking older Thiels


what to do on raising thiels with spikes or outriggers on 3.5's suggestions, also EQ on tape loop. Just brought home. Thanks

If you have a suspended floor, don't spike into it, you just make the floor a "sound board" for the bass and it will be muddy and thick. Only spike into a cement slab floor.

Thiel provide two sets of three pointed spikes for use with the 3.5’s accommodating bases.
One sharp pointed carpet piercing set, and one dull pointed set for hard floors, with mention of the very same thing georgehifi posted. Use or don't use accordingly.

The eq can be best used between amp and pre/source or in a tape loop.

Rob Gillum is the man. I bought a pair of 3.5s a few years back, lacking the spikes. Rob sorted it all.
