Hi Fi Tuning Fuses & Ayre

I have Isoclean fuses as the mains fuses in my CX-7eMP and K-1xe power supply. In virgin form, they provide a slight improvement in air and detail and a tad better treble extension. There are three tweaks that make a significant improvement:

1) having them Quantum Tunneled by Synergistic Research
2) painting the glass bodies with AVM
3) applying Silclear or Walker Audio SST to the gold ends

With these tweaks, the fuses make a very significant improvement in the soundstage, transparency, detail, and frequency extension in my Ayre equipment.

I put the HiFi tuning gold cap fuses in my MXRs. Things were more quiet, allowing better detail, extension, and more resolution but with warmth. Wasn't like a new amp, but was a improve that far outweighs the cost.

All plusses no negatives.

yeah.. for 30$ it's worth a try... these fuses are showing up everywhere! I mean, they are advertising on forums, magazines and all.

Thanks, guys. Can you help me on exactly which fuse to order for my K-1xe and C-5xe? I read the fuses available on the Hi Fi Tuning and Isoclean Websites and don't know which are the right ones because the nomenclature on their tubes do not match the nomenclature on the stock Ayre tubes.

Just open it up and see...or if you're lucky, they put the fuse in the female IEC receptacle. I have HiFi fuses in all my gear. Same results as jfrech above.

Are furuteck fuses directional? If so, besides inverting direction and listening to the difference in sound, how do you determine correct direcion? Is the difference more noticable after about 100 hour burn in?
