Has anyone experience with the Cocktail Audio X14?

With CD ripping and up to 8 Terabytes of internal memory, it seems to have all the boxes checked for a second system for me.

In the same price range ($1000), are there other better options out there?

Thanks in advance.

It does a lot but its not great sounding, mid-fi at best but if that's all you need then the feature set is impressive.

I listen to one of the earlier models though so may have improved some since then. Its basically a computer in a box with an inexpensive analogue out section, from the earlier models anyway.

Class D as well if that mater to you.
I bought an X14 to put in my travel trailer.  Good for the $649.00 I paid for it new.  On sale now at TMR Audio for $549.00 new in the box.

i put a 2TB HDD in it.  Sounds better then the cheap Jensen radio they put in RVs.

The thirty watts x2 should be fine for replacing an old Kenwood receiver on a office setup, but what about the streamer?  My main use would be in the workroom or garage and then with mostly headphones.
The Oppo in my main system pulls straight from my NAS without problem, so the X14 would not be used there.

The X14 will play directly from a NAS, a USB drive or an internal HDD. I have about 2TB of music loaded on a 2.5" HDD inside the X14. Works great.
I had used X12 for 6 years with no issue.

Now I keep X12 as reserve for X30 which had been working fine for 9 months.

It is easy to navigate through search menu.
sfseay,

Thanks for the positive answers. I’m going see what the holidays bring. :)
