Foam around treble units/ tweeters

My speakers have foam - maybe 1/4 inch thick around the treble/ tweeter units.

Foam is getting old and some fell off.  The foam is about 6 by 6 inches and 1/4 inch thick.

Any idea of what type of material to use to replace the foam?  What is it used for?

Thank you.

I'd call the manufacturer first and see if they have repair kits or use something like this or make one from sheet stock.

Dampers: Felt Defraction Ring for Tweeters (madisoundspeakerstore.com)

Buy someAC filter foam and glue it to the baffle. Don’t forget to remove the old foam first.  The speakers were probably voiced with foam so I would not use felt unless you want to alter the sound.

Thank you all.  Let me follow up on the leads and see what will work!!!

Jamac seems a very interesting shop.

Thanks so much!
