Whose sorry now? Sellers remorse from selling amp.
I'm sorry for selling my Thorens TD125/SME 3009 TT. I'm also sorry I didn't buy that Threshold S/200 in mint condition to bi-amp with my own S/300. But that's about it.
Experience with Audio Alchemy DDS pro transport
Thnx, but since I'm living in Europe (Holland) it might be wiser to look for someone on my side of the ocean ;).
Experience with Audio Alchemy DDS pro transport
Yup, it's the one with the Pioneer Stable Platter. Since Pioneers with this mechanism are rather common I could pick one up secondhand to use for spare-parts. The reason I'm interested in the Audio Alchemy is that I can get it for a good price, wh...
The best mini monitors you have heard?
The best two-way I've heard to this day is a diy design bij Scan Speak, the Reference Monitor SE. http://www.audiocomponents.nl/speakers/scanspeak/reference/scanspeak-reference_eng.htm Here you'll find a description and some drawings. The one I've...
nakamichi pa5 or 7
Well... regarding the last posting, that's not entirely true. There are some differences between for example the Nak PA 7 and the similarly specced Threshold S/300. Both use the STASIS-design made by Nelson Pass, but due to a different lay-out and...
Best guitar explosion of all time
@ Btstrg: you've beat me to it. I have seen and heard many wonderfull guitarists, but there's something magical about Eruption. Maybe it's because it was the first proper guitarsolo I heard when I was a teenager, or that it inspired me to play gui...
experience with Threshold SA/2e or S/500 amps?
My former loudspeakers had an impedance of 1,9 Ohm at some 87 Hz. The Threshold didn't have any problem with it, even when playing loud. It also drives my current Apogees with ease, so I wouldn't worry about the load.
Is HDCD dead?
My former PS Audio DAC had HDCD decoding, which sounded good on all 5 of my cd's with HDCD. My new Northstar Design DAC doesn't have HDCD decoding and sounds way better with the 495 cd's that are not HDCD decoded. So....
The best speaker you ever heard?
The best speakers I've ever heard are probably Apogee Scintilla's. The best speakers I've ever owned are Apogee Centaur Majors.
Is it to much power?
If you want the x600's and you can afford them, buy them. If you crank up the volume and something starts to distort, turn them down. But I'll imagine your ears will protest before your speakers do. Or the neighbours.....
experience with Threshold SA/2e or S/500 amps?
I own a Threshold S/300 amp which I prefer over many more modern poweramps. The sound (to my ears that is) is a bit on the warm side, but not at the expense of detail. It is dynamic, powerfull, has a very nice stereo image and suits my taste to a ...

Replacement pwr supply for Aragon 24k
Sorry to hear about your problem. It amazes me the ps broke down: to me it looks like a solid piece of engineering.[img=http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/1497/40682462if0.th.jpg]Can't help you, but I would suspect the modification. Any chance for...
Most expensive Audio disapoinment?
I bought a Philips DCC recorder. Remember those? Nah, me neither. I wonder where that thing is right now....
