So, again, a question concerning amps.
classe equipment is very nice, even their older stuff. they did have some issues with some older amps, but overall excellent stuff and highly recommended. they make a very nice 5 channel amp for ht use as well as many different 2 channel models. i...
How about a contest?
some people think this is competition. look at some of the threads that people put out on audiogon. there have been many times from a couple people that state 'i had somebody listen to my system and they indicated it was the most musical system th...
Does Your System Sound Like the Real Thing?
i feel this would be tough to accomplish. for one thing, you would have to go see the concert when it was recorded so you personnally would have a reference on how it sounded live. then you would have to trust the recording engineers that they did...
Can the Totem Hawk Rock?
i have auditioned many different brands and types of speakers before deciding on the totems. the thiels were too bright for me and did not have any bottom end what so ever. b&w speakers, just so-so, nothing stood out. joseph, from their booksh...
Can the Totem Hawk Rock?
Exertfluffer, it is not about watts, it is about power. i have heard bob carver amps that claim 400 watts that did not produce the power of an onkyo 70 watt amp. you need a good 'powerfull' amp (not just an amp with a lot of watts) to drive totem ...
Can the Totem Hawk Rock?
I will agree with Exertfluffer on auditioning any speaker in your room with your equipment. if you get quality equipment on audiogon at a decent price, you will be able to sell it again if you don't like it. Totem speakers sell pretty fast on audi...
Can the Totem Hawk Rock?
i would agree with the other posts. the hawks are a better speaker than the sttaf, and the forests are a better speaker than the hawks. the forest speakers have a better bottom end than the hawks but in your room, the hawks should be just fine. an...
Has anybody heard the new Classe CDP 100
very musical. to me, it sounds very similar to my classe cdp 1.5 cd player. i'm not sure about the new rounded look for the amps and cd player. they also raised the price of all their components. i don't see a need to upgrade my classe components ...
Aerial 9 to 10T
if you like aerial speakers, IMO the 9's blow away the 10's. bass isn't muddy (slow/loose) like the 10's, overall the 9's are a more musical speaker.
jolida 302a + totem arro / pre-out for sub?
i have the arros in my den and they are a very nice sounding speaker for their size. if you want to go with a sub, try to get one that is fast and musical like the rel strata III, totem lightning, or vandersteen. if you don't have a pre out, you c...
$4000 to spend on a SS power amp - help me choose
i would audition amps from classe, mcintosh, musical fidelity, and odyssey.
Are Wilson speakers
i upgraded my totem model 1's to the totem mani-2's. if you like your model 1's, you will love the mani-2's. from what i rememeber about the sound of an older pair of wwp's, i like the totem sound better. the new wwp 7's are very nice speakers for...
Tubes or Sand for Totem Arro under 1k?
as far as the classe integrated amps go, if you would stick to the cap 101 or cap 151, the sound would be very nice at a low volume level. another integrated amp that would be a very good combination with the arro's would be a mcintosh 6500. class...
Tubes or Sand for Totem Arro under 1k?
i also use the arro's in my office/den, very nice speakers. other option's for an integrated amp for the arro's would be:mcintosh 6500, classe cap series (101, 151). any of these amps (imo) have a tube like sound but with the punch of solid state....
classe ca-300 or bryston 4b sst for thiel 2.4
i agree with theo. go with the classe. it is a much warmer sounding amp. thiel's in my opinion tend to be on the more bright side and i think the bryston would make it even more bright sounding.
