Who believes that Robert Plant
John Fogerty, Burton Cummings, and John Kay are my three top personal faves
Second Tone Arm
RS Laboratory RS-A1 which is sonically above its current price point(WAY above the original $500 list) in my opinion if you can cope with its idiosyncratic handling characteristics. Always been a bit curious about ViV Laboratory Rigid Float arms. ...
Audio Magic Fuse Leak Problem???
I have his top fuses in everything. Well, not in my multimeter:) Sadly I lost one along with the bridge rectifier during a multiple power outage and though expensive to replace (fuse more than the bridge) sonic merits definitely warrant continued ...
Audio Magic Pulse Gen products
Brownsfan, I was told the smallest PEAs were a quarter strength of the medium ones. They'd suffice nicely inside components and would be complimentary to the Pulse Gens. He suggested two mediums to start and try them behind the speakers. I regular...
Audio Magic Pulse Gen products
Hi guys,Sorry for not chiming in again earlier Ozzy. My experiences correlate precisely with Hi5harry's pretty much on everything we experience aurally which is reassuring. I think Brownsfan is onto something guessing that something in your rig is...
Audio Magic Pulse Gen products
IMO I feel the blue dot works much better outside. The Pulse Gen performs best inside with the chassis closed back up. That being said I thought there was a slightly better effect near lower level ICs and their RCAs. IEC area next and Transformers...
Audio Magic Pulse Gen products
Hi Ozzy, Hi5Harry asked me to chime in with my opinions on Audio Magic. I'm usually a lurker:) I'm a bit apprehensive about posting in Tech Talk as my observations and impressions are subjective and YMMV. That being said I find in the context of m...

California Audio Show- a great time
A huge thank you to Constantine and all the vendors who showed. I share the opinion this was the best show. It was very possible to end up in a sweet spot seat so necessary for giving many setups a fair shake. Vendors were MUCH more easily approac...
California Audio Show-why I hate audio conventions
A huge thank you to Constantine and all the vendors who showed. I have to second the opinion that this was the best show for me also. It was very possible to end up in a sweet spot seat so necessary for giving many setups a fair shake. Vendors wer...
To open a thor TA 1000 MK II you first...
Hardest part will be removing the drilled out hex head at the bottom center. Once done it is just a matter of unscrewing the three feet and any other screws present on the bottom plate (some had additional some didn't). Be careful at this point be...
Need guidance on isolation devices
Source components benefit from isolation the most in my opinion but everything does. Air bladders (inner tubes) work well but tend to leak slowly. If you go this route find three of the smallest ones you can find and allow access to the schrader v...
First song to "Blow You Away"...
There were probably songs earlier that "blew me away" but the one that holds the most weight to this day is probably Duane Allman's guitar playing in Boz Scagg's " Loan Me A Dime" on his first solo album entitled "Boz Scaggs"(of course his singing...
THE LATEST---Gold plated fuses?
Haven't tried different fuses but I do hear a difference by wrapping Teflon Plumber's tape tightly around the glass portion three or four times. In my system I hear an attendant reduction in edge definition. As always YMMV.
How do you know if you need a power conditioner?
When my system reached a certain level of resolution I noticed that reproduction seemed much more natural and less tense after 5pm, especially during weekdays, and then even more so after say about 11pm or midnight. The involvement factor improved...
