Schiit Freya + Class A in Stereophile
Hi Brunomarcs.  I was thinking of trying the Rogue RP7 to upgrade the Freya +.  I am really wondering how much improvement it's going to be and maybe not worth the trouble.  I like all the features of the RP7 or 9.  I really like the Freya + in tu...
Schiit Freya + Class A in Stereophile
Yes I can attest to the comparison between the LS50 and Wilson speakers.  I had been running some LS50 for a few months moving them around from room to room as I was doing some remodeling.  I thought wow these rooms really sound bad, hopeless for ...
KEF Blade 2
I'll chime in.  I owned the blade 2 for a couple of years.  I mostly paired them with a DCS Rossini directly to a pair of Theta Prometheus mono blocks.  I was happy with them compared to some Revel Salon 2s I had and some Dynaudio C4s before that....
PSA: KEF Blade drivers seem to be easily repairable and upgradable
amazing what a cheap plastic box these speakers are.  I owned a pair and was not impressed with what you get for that kind of money.  Mine even had a rattle inside I could never track down that would be excited by certain frequencies.
hana ML vs Rega Ania pro on Rega P8
I'm just wondering about the VTA and if you have to use shims.  The one thing I don't like about the Rega is no adjustment to the VTA
THE NEW DCS APEX DAC VS THE PREVIOUS ROSSINI
9K. what a joke. Perfect for rich and nuerotic DCS owners. I can hear bit more shimmer in the cymbals. Sign me up. Thanks for the detailed write up.  Very comprehensive
THE NEW DCS APEX DAC VS THE PREVIOUS ROSSINI
the big question is how much to upgrade the Rossini to Apex?  I've poked around a little and they don't seem to want to answer this question just say to contact your dealer.  I'm gonna guess 5K.  You kind of lost me when you said the Apex sounded ...
rega P8 Ania pro setup questions
I bought a new P8 when they were first released by Rega. I have thoroughly enjoyed it, using a Hana SL cartridge   Did you have to do anything special in regards to the VTA with the Hana cart vs the Rega cart?  I have a Hana ML here in the box a...

I think it could be your final table.  It's sounding better and better to me.  I am tempted to upgrade to the Planar 10 and top cartridge and call it a day. The thing I like the best is that it's so quick and easy to use.  I don't do a thing, don'...
Fist Watt F6 vs Pass Labs XA 25
I have used the F6 with only Klipsch.  The forte III, Cornwall IV and vintage la scala.  I like it best with La Scala, those are the most efficient of the bunch and the F6 has plenty of power for those speakers. I feel like it's not the most balls...
Rogue RP-1 or Schiit Freya
The Freya + is a really nice sounding preamp for the money and can be made a lot better sounding with better tubes.  I am quite impressed with it.  I also have the Benchmark LA4 which is also good a bit more of a cool and open sound.  I would like...
Phono cables
I have a luxman integrated and tried running a regular interconnect with a separate ground wire I made.  It was almost 8' long which I'm not sure might be pushing it.  It was from the output of a technics SL1100 table.  I was getting the most insa...

Howard,    I have to say I was quite unimpressed by the Planar 8 compared to my VPI classic 3 with Ortofon Cadenza Black.  I played for a while in my main system then put in in my office system.  Still unimpressed in the office and with the shor...
pro-ject cd box rs2 vs jays audio cd2 mk3
I have found I like the sound of the spdif output vs AES with the same cable (audioquest diamond) on each into my DCS Rossini DAC.  I also spent some time comparing the Audio Envy digital spdif cable to the audioquest diamond and was hoping the ch...
Amplfiers that Sound like Pass 30.8 that are not so heavy
Personally I would try a tube amp.  I have the 30.8 and the First Watt J2 and F6 and have compared many other solid state amps to my Decware Zen triode as well as the Feliks Arioso 300B amp.  I always hear what I would call grain from the solid st...
