The Absolute Sound "review" of USB cable reads suspiciously like a press releaste
My "broad pronouncement" represents my opinion, based, over the years, on many disappointments.  Recently replaced the Kimber Kables to my main speakers because they were not long enough in our new home.  Spent about (oh, my god) $35.00 with Monop...

Just for the record, you have about 16,000 more "blah, blah, blahs" than I.  Perhaps I have a life beyond Audiogon?
The Absolute Sound "review" of USB cable reads suspiciously like a press releaste
I would buy a very reasonably priced USB cable from Monoprice or other legitimate dealer.  Makes no sense to pay a premium for Nordhost cables when there has never been a  verified test where anyone was able to tell the difference.  Every serious,...
The Absolute Sound "review" of USB cable reads suspiciously like a press releaste
Come on...its a Nordhost product.  Starting out it is well made, over priced and of questionable efficacy.   A poor value even if it does make a difference.
Most useful tweaks that are sensible and really make a noticeable improvement
There ya go!  Evolution as stated by the cryo-Chef.  Or maybe we should call it audio tweak creationism.
Most useful tweaks that are sensible and really make a noticeable improvement
Thanks, Gill.  Geoff, I'm sure is an OK guy but perhaps a bit overly obsessed with tweaks and this forum.  Me?  I just love listening to music and changing my system now and then to keep things interesting.  I have no interest in wasting time and ...
Most useful tweaks that are sensible and really make a noticeable improvement
Geoff says:Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone gets his panties in such a twist over some audiophile tweaks. Slow day at Subway, I suspect. My friend, if you think my two posts are so emotional that I can be described as having my panties in a...
Most useful tweaks that are sensible and really make a noticeable improvement
Although my previous comment was in jest, it does, in its own way, contribute to the discussion...by hinting, as useful information, that Geoff's recommendation about freezing electronic components and accessories is, in my opinion, a joke.  Geoff...
Most useful tweaks that are sensible and really make a noticeable improvement
@geoff  sez:Everything sounds better cryo’d. Even home freezing is highly effective and permanent....  This is very hush hush but there are others things to freeze at home or to send off to Cryo Lab but they’re beyond the scope of this discussion....
The Science of Cables
All I can say is some people get hung up on measurement and are too quick to say don't waste your money because all wire sounds the same...snake oil. I agree with those that say trust your ears...all I really care about (with-in reason) is what ...
What’s your vote for the most ridiculous, overpriced, and useless tweak?
Nordhost Odin Cables/Wires.  To connect my pre-amp, amps (two), disc player and speakers (not including power cords) $137,000.00.
What the...have I just done ? Please explain...
I am an analytical listener being in Hi Fi many years - what the hell have I just done from the scientific point of view ? Since when did the perceived results of these kinds of "tweaks" have anything to do with science?
$10k Speaker Cables??????????????
Steve: welcome to the alternate world of those "audiophiles" who will defend to the death audio accessories that, while pretty, are overpriced and, in most cases, ineffective in achieving performance claims.  Actually, it seems that the more overp...
$10k Speaker Cables??????????????
"Mr Smarty Pants?"  Really, Geoff, I know you have no other pastime but hawking this forum (note your zillions of posts) but, please..."Mr Smarty Pants?"Ditto on the HDMI...digital pass through cannot be improved upon.  You know that, don't you?
$10k Speaker Cables??????????????
OK, Goeffery....here is one example; a USB cable.  an informed person knows that the transfer of ones and zeros either gets to its destination or not.  A cable cannot sonically improve the signal.  Yet for $550.00, Nordost will sell you one of the...
