Bombay Furniture Company offers a cabinet called the Harlequin (??) that has doors with storage and inner shelves. I bought two adn they hold my 1000+ colection. They are only about $250 each, also.

Sorice in Perkasie, PA. makes very nice solid hardwood CD cabinets in various sizes, woods, and configurations. I have two of their 300 CD units in oak that are very well made-- with smoked glass doors, and glass shelves. But there are other options.
