Subwoofers - crazy upgrade!

I’ve read it for decades , every where. Never tried a sub

Till now.  What a shame!  This is amazing.  Just 1 hour

in my system and not fully broken in or calibrated. opens

Up the mains, deepens stage, adds bass detail.  More

Soulful/open- dynamic- easy.  Svs 3000 micro R.  I do NOT

get the physical body compression, but musically wonderful!

I can overblow it a little to feel it though .  I have it on the stock feet.

i think elevation would allow more volume and gain to get

a physical impact while keeping it clean.  What an enjoyable

subwoofer!!

gifalls,

My subs are the JL Audio Fathoms F-113. Not sure of their stacking ability. Or mine...

Yes it was. They were/are great folks. I learned a lot from them. The wife was/is a professional violinist. They used to and maybe still do live in Vallejo, CA, where I also live…Unfortunately the shop closed years ago.

Cheers!

Your subs are heavyweights! By the looks of them, they have 4 rubberized feet that may help stabilize them, along with the weight of them if stacked but I would be concerned about putting that kind of weight on top of another speaker/sub. The specs say the cabinets are made of 3/4 inch thick material but still 135 lbs. is a lot…I see the F-113v2’s are 2 woofers in one cabinet similar to the REL S/212’s (which weigh 134 lbs) neither is stackable. I get to play with a pair at the end of this month.

To be perfectly honest about it I was happy with a pair of REL S/812’s…And lost my mind that took me where I am today…still figuring it out!

Enjoy the music!
