Every streamer I have encountered streams directly from the internet and not the device controlling it. Your phone for example, if used, is only controlling the streamer as a remote not doing the heavy lifting of connecting to the internet and sending the stream to the streamer. So yes, the Eversolo is directly connecting to the internet for the streamed music. No computer even needed, that’s the point. You may want to connect your phone via their app for remote duties though.
Eversolo DMP-A6: Anyone streaming Qobuz directly in from internet, no computer?
I just read Sterophile’s review on the new DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen2 streaming D/A processor, and the reviewer says Qobuz comes pre-installed on the steamer, you just need to sign in to use it.
My issue is that I don’t want to play music files stored on my computer: I just want to stream Qobuz over the internet directly to my stereo, using the DMP-A6 as my music source. I have a vinyl collection, I have an excellent SACD player, and I don’t want to take on setting up and storing hi-res audio files on my computer or a separate server, my life’s complicated enough already.
Has anyone here tried streaming Qobuz directly into an Eversolo streamer, then out to their amplifier? Or heard of someone else doing it? If I can get it to work for me and improve the sound quality, $1,395.00 is a pretty reasonable price of entry.
Thanks for your input ;-)

Perfect! Thank you! Right now in order to stream Qobuz to my stereo I have to route it through the Qobuz app on my Samsung TV, out through the fiber optic cable and rca output to my Creek Destiny integrated, which only has rca inputs/outputs (kind of a PIA to figure out and implement). So this is great news, all I’ll need to add to the streamer is another Sablon power cord and more MIT Magnum or above rca interconnects to match what I’m running in the rest of the system. Thanks again, Scott |
It couldn't be simpler. It is one of the listed "Streaming" sources under the "Streaming" icon (along with Tidal, Deezer, Apple Music, etc). You log in once and then can control through the touch screen or your phone app. No computer needed and no cable to computer. You must connect to your home network via Ethernet cable or WiFi. If you choose, you can connect up your PC and use it as an input source via USB. |
Installation of any streaming app is an easy task. Preinstallation does not mean you don't need to pay for the monthly or annual subscription. Check on that. Have you heard the issue with Qobuz https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/qobuz-still-messed-up Please make sure you like the Eversolo house sound before committing to the purchase. |
