What should I use to convert FLAC files to AIFF?
Thank you all! I’m trying out XLD as I write.
Do any still use an older high end tuner from the past?....
I have a Sansui TU-919 and a Mitsubishi DA-F20, purchased based on the tuner shootout rankings. I got the Mitsubishi first because the price was right and I had Mitsubishi equipment back in the day, excellent tuner. HOWEVER, everything they said a...
Lenco L75-S16
It's no more desirable other than the fact it has zero hours on it, and the much better S-shaped tone arm. Same platter as all other heavy-platter Lencos. P.S., a NOS Bogen B62 just sold on ebay for a bit under $450 a few weeks back, but I didn't ...
Forever speakers around $5000
Used GoldenEar Triton Reference, perhaps? A bit larger than your preferred size, but my Triton Twos sound amazing and the Reference add shiny piano black enclosures. They may be too big for some rooms.
Popular new/used SS stereo power amps under $2500?
My early-model English Destiny sounds amazing and has had zero issues. You can look at my profile to see the associated gear I run with it.
Popular new/used SS stereo power amps under $2500?
Sorry, had some reliability issues.
Popular new/used SS stereo power amps under $2500?
Creek Destiny integrated, the British version, not the one manufactured in China which apparently have some reliability issues. Reviewed January 2007 in Stereophile.

Sounds like it can - $39.00 isn't a bad price, either. I'll definitely check it out. Thanks!
Lenco L75-S16
ABSOLUTELY NOT ! ! ! Your L75-S16 turntable is the ultimate, classic, end-of-production-forever heavy platter Lenco. It was manufactured only in Italy from 1982-1984, and has the newest and most refined components (and the least degraded by age pa...
Best speaker cables for Creek 5350SE/MA Silver RS6
Hello, everyone: Thanks for all the input. My cable update is that I'll probably be going with MIT CVT2 bi-wires as Stereophile recommended, after missing my shot at some used Acarian Black Orpheus Bi-Wires. I was toying with the idea of building ...
B&W 805 or Monitor Audio Silver for Creek 5350SE?
Thanks for the tips, 4hannons. I'll toe them in, and I'll have to check out those Morrows, too.
B&W 805 or Monitor Audio Silver for Creek 5350SE?
Update: I finally bought the MA RS6s from a fellow Agoner last week (for a third of the price of 805n loudspeakers), and love them. I'd switched from Home Depot speaker wire to Anti-Cables a year ago, and was disappointed with the sound, so of cou...
MonitorAudioSilverRS6 vs ParadigmReferenceStudio60
Thanks, J stereo! It's great to hear from someone who's heard both. I suspect that I'd be happier with the Paradigms - I'm nervous the RS6s might be bright, regardless of the Stereophile review with my 5350SE. However, as you say, the difference i...
B&W 805 or Monitor Audio Silver for Creek 5350SE?
Thanks for the silver wire tip: I'd come to the same conclusion myself. As another speaker option, how about Dunlavy Audio Laboratories SC-IV loudspeakers? According to what I've read, they're pretty neutral, have decent bass, and they're in the s...
Anyone had hum issue with Creek 5350se Integrated?
I have a 1920 3-story house and a 1st-generation Creek 5350SE, purchased this winter on AudiogoN. It developed an annoying hum last month after I upgraded my cd player from a Sony PS1 (which I never turned off) to a Marantz SA8001. My solution, di...
