Dynaudio Confidence serie

Hi,

Have you had a chance to listen to the Dynaudio Confidence 30/50/60 series? What do you think about them?

A lot of people I know keep raving about them, and my favorite hi-fi dealer carries the whole Confidence lineup, so I've started thinking about making the switch.

So far I've only heard the Dynaudio Special Forty and there were quite nice.

hello @kennymacc .  Surprised myself also.

So my family room is my second system, and I did love the Salon 2's.  I brought the Dynaudio Contour 20i's in for an evaluation, considering them for a vaca home.  I hooked them up in my family room and honestly was blown away.  They are much more resolving, and image very well.  But what blew me away was their ability to fill a large family room / eat in area / kitchen.  (I do have a pair of REL Carbon Specials here also).  But my wife LOVED the smaller visual impact and begged me to replace the Revels with the Contour 20's.

Never one to miss an opportunity, I showed her the Confidence 20 stand mounts in the decorator friendly light wood.  She liked that look better so I found a pair used and went for them.  They are better than the Contour 20's in every way and do not dominate the room like the Salon 2's.  They are also better than the Revel's.

I never would have believed I would go for stand mounts, as why if they basically have the same footprint?  I learned that the visual footprint is much less, as the stands disappear.  But the imaging and cohesiveness is very good, The Dynaudios have great frequency range, better resolution etc.  AND, with a pair of world class subs (I ran the subs even with the Revel Salon 2's), I did not miss a thing.

I think stand mounts get bad reps because they are usually paired with inferior electronics at dealers and shows.  But put these to work with great electronics (high current amps) and they really do sing!

Take care!  ...and stop laughing at me! :)

I have been happy with a venerable pair of standmount Contour 1.3 SE's in my office for many years.

Dynaudio is a good company.  I'm sorry to see them leave.

Bought the Dynaudio Contour Legacy last year. One pair of 1000. Could not be happier with this end game speaker for me. I like the Dynaudio sound and philodophy. Always regretted not buying the Special 25 back then. Did not miss the opportunity this time around.
