@jaymark - Enigmaacoustic supertweeter was highly praised, why are you seeking to replace?

Best Supertweeter
I have the Enigmaacoustic supertweeter and think very highly of them. There is an outfit in Nashville that sells them and several other brands like TakeT. However, i have left them messages with no response. So I am looking for a recommendation of a dealer that communicates and sells state of the art supertweeters. Thanks.,

@kennyc I love the Enigmaacoustic supertweeter. However, i bought mine from an estate sale run by an audio dealer. The outfit in Nasville finally called me yesterday and they sell this supertweeter. So i will get another one and run it with a TakitLive supertweeter. |
we have sold them on a special order the company that made them closed so I would not try to order a pair when we did order a pair years ago it took a very long time to get them
we have sold the Elac pi super tweeters and they are marvelous and have a 360 degree omnidirectional design.

After this thread spiked my curiosity, I want a 360 dispersion unit for a more enveloping sonic experience. I’m favoring the Elac 4PI PLUS V because it looks like direct dispersion vs S-Trax which looks reflective and comes in wood which doesn’t match my modern lacquer finish. Similar to adding a high-end subwoofer to support speakers bass thru midrange, adding a super tweeter to support the speakers treble. It’s a big struggle figuring out an “articulate” subwoofer (not simply deeper bass or adding bass energy) to support my highly detailed Vimberg Mino D- I’ll probably reach out to my Tidal dealer. Best wishes and thanks for starting this thread. |
Many of you know, I ran Marcof Electronics and SpeakerCraft out of Missouri many years ago and have recently started a speaker upgrade company. Done properly a super tweeter can be helpful, but I do want to alert you that if crossed at the wrong frequency or a mismatch of sensitivity, you can end up making things worse. Comb filtering/cancellation problems. I will say that if you do try it and don't like what it does, you can try firing it to the rear and see if that adds enough air/ambience for you. Good Luck, Tim |
