Designer in wall wiring - worth it?

@jea48 I installed a Siemens whole house surge protector several years ago. And I have PS Audio P15 for protection and “cleansing” for all of my components. I also installed all the wiring and the breakers, I am positive they are on the same leg.

@curiousjim Thanks for the comment. I have been so impressed with the Audience speaker cables, and more recently the Hidden Treasure Ethernet cable, I just figured this might be worth a try. They seem to know what they are doing.
 

All you can do at the end of hundreds of miles of power transmission is remove noise and prevent voltage drop from your breaker panel under load. You can't exotic your way into better sounding in-wall AC cables. Thicker gauge will reduce voltage drop from panel to receptacle and any 10 gauge will do that just fine.  

If you feel the need to reduce noise, or protect from surges you are better off spending money after the receptacle. 

Not entirely disagreeing @erik_squires , but could the Audience wire act as an extension of a high end power cord? 

Well, again, what do you expect to happen to power after all that distance?  There’s nothing exotic you are allowed to even DO in the wall. 

Lets say for instance, you put in 100% shielded AC cable.  Well, that’s fine, for 15’ feet of 200  miles you have shielded from noise.  What expectations do you have that the 15’ of shielding is going to do a thing?  

Much smarter to put  in a power conditioner, and use shielded cables AFTER the conditioner.  A power conditioner with filtering, regulation and maybe a  power factor correction will be worth money.  Exotic in wall cables are not.

Smarter yet, deal with your room acoustics first.
