I never considered liquidating my records. I transported all of them to numerous homes in Southern California and Northern Virginia even after my original Garrard turntable died. The collection spanned 1962-1990 and I never permitted movers to pack them, primarily because I dreaded the thought that I would have to re-alphabetize 3500 albums after delivery. It wasn't until 1994 that I discovered a new, quality KAB audiophile turntable and customized cartridge could be acquired.
Yes, I did purchase hundreds of CDs from 1990-1994 but ONLY because I could not live my life without music. I still have all of them, and continue to purchase SACDs and obscure live and studio outtake recordings not available on vinyl. However, records are unquestionably still my favorite listening pleasure.
