Who do you turn to when you have the envies for funk?

FYI, envies, pronounced on-vees, is a cajun term for when you have the need, wants or have to haves for something usually food or music. As I cull and play grade my vinyl collection I am not so very surprised by how much funky music has made its way into my collection and thought it would be interesting to see who others go to for their funk. My go to artist for the most part are War, The Meters, Professor Longhair, Earth Wind and Fire, Sly the Family Stone, J Geils/Peter Wolf, George Clinton, James Brown, and Curtis Mayfield for the most part. Please add yours as I am always looking to get more funk in my life. Thanks for reading. Enjoy the music

Anyone remember Brickhouse by the Commodores? In retrospect, a brick house has nothing to do with a soft curvaceous woman. Seems silly nowadays,

I remember EWF Celebrate was heavily blanketing the airways that I got very tired of hearing it.

Fun times as I was a party animal. Nowadays I’m on sobriety,

The video of Prince rocking out with Tom Petty and company honoring John Lennon just after passing was epic, sucks that some nutcase took his life.

Little Feat

Isley Brothers

Parliament

Funkadelic

Brides of Funkenstein

Barkays

Royal Southern Brotherhood

"Don't Look Back"

Don't let the title fool you...

some funky $hit here.

Some great funk has been mentioned. I love Funkadelic, Lettuce, Motet and The Mastersounds.
I would like to add Eddie Harris’ “Apedextrious” and also some Darondo from the Oakland.
