I’m sure it sounds great but I think it’s ugly. For me a speaker has to look as good as it sounds. I’m sure some with the money to buy will like the looks but I’ll pass.
Wilsons new flagship
Maybe I am getting old but Wilsons new flagship $780k and they feel it is justified,
lit gets better if you want custom paint $110,000 they said it takes 2 days to paint both speakers, Jays audio lab commented and I think it was way too much and
$110k for $300 in paint is nuts that is truly taking advantage of everyone with wealth, imo only an idiot would pay that. I guess nothing should surprise me any more !!

Wilson builds what Wilson builds and they have decades of experience knowing what their dealers and customers want. I imagine this loudspeaker will be a success for them. People are quick to complain about forum posters who interject politics into what they consider purely audio directed threads. This thread is inherently political. Opinions about cost, both extravagant and budget, are at their core discussions about political economics. |

You are on the right track with buying different types of speakers instead at a much lower price per piece....The Avantgarde sounds drastically different from a Willie. A maggie sounds drastically different from a Willie, etc. Inevitably, one will click in place better for a certain genre of music and so on. There’s no ’cream of the crop’/’top of the line’ speaker from 1 design ethos that did great for every type of music. (If you had 780k for buying speakers in general.... hopefully,,you have more than 1 room or a big room to fit a few different speakers... not a shoe closet sized room). @audionutjeff wrote
