Does anyone have a digital system that is as involving as their analogue front end?

I have a good analogue front end. Not stratuspherically good but good enough for this comparison. VPI Prime Signature 21 turntable, Pass Labs XP-25 pono preamp, Pass Labs XP-30 preamp and Hovland Radia amp. It has a lovely, very involving sound. On the right recording, I just drop everythng and am drawn in to listen.

My streamer, on the other hand, is decent but not spectacular. It is better than my CD player, but it is not jaw-dropping like my analogue front-end. My question is this: does anyone have a high-end, tier-one streamer (dCS Bartok Apex, Lumin X2, or something like them) that can rival a good analogue system?

I’m listening to Waltz For Debbie now. And it’s the first time I am playing this album with my phono stage fully broken in. I’ve played this LP on my two previous phono stages and it was amazing but with new phono amp the surface noise is virtually gone, I can’t hear it even on decent volume. Which is great! However, now I hear a lot more of the venue including dishes, utensils, carts wheeling crap away with squeaky wheels, people talking and it’s so clear that if I wanted to I could probably make out what they’re saying. This is on side one. And it’s a newfound distraction :)

It’s annoying at times and I wish KG had suppressed that a bit but at the same time I’m glad he adhered to the original and kept it all in there. Does the venue / audience noise bother you?

@audphile1 First time listening to it through the Little Loco and I noticed the same today. As in WTF!

At first I thought the clanging and banging was coming from outside the house, next thought was it was recorded near a train station, then I realized what it was.

Doesn’t bother me a bit though - adds character.
