Does anyone have a digital system that is as involving as their analogue front end?

I have a good analogue front end. Not stratuspherically good but good enough for this comparison. VPI Prime Signature 21 turntable, Pass Labs XP-25 pono preamp, Pass Labs XP-30 preamp and Hovland Radia amp. It has a lovely, very involving sound. On the right recording, I just drop everythng and am drawn in to listen.

My streamer, on the other hand, is decent but not spectacular. It is better than my CD player, but it is not jaw-dropping like my analogue front-end. My question is this: does anyone have a high-end, tier-one streamer (dCS Bartok Apex, Lumin X2, or something like them) that can rival a good analogue system?

Thanks for the sleuthing, @audphile1.  I’m guessing that Roon has just dumped all the credit data available into one messy pile. It seems to have the same long list for each version without explanation or differeniation, other than the name of the company responsible for the release.

@audphile1 Thanks for posting the pics. Look forward to the VS being public.

I checked and I just acquired the Craft version CR00617 so I'll be comparing that using my newly acquired Sutherland Little Loco with whatever is on Qobuz later from my Lumin T3X (also new). I am really pleased with both - massive upgrades from what I had before.

To answer the OP's question, I guess I'm at digital "tier 2" but I'd say I'm as close to my analogue rig as I want to be. Both are really involving / satisfying.

@kirkwallace well I was very curious so I dug in a bit :)

interesting how Roon does so many things wrong. I take Tidal as a reference though because they are the keepers of the source material and should know what master they are offering to their customer base. Glad to see they’re accurate with the info.
Guess I don’t have to turn my Roon core on…

I have Analog Productions Bill Evans “Explorations” scheduled to arrive this weekend. It will be interesting to compare to streaming. The vinyl is 45rpm

@macg19 Ron makes fine phono stages. I owned KC Vibe 2 and 20/20 Mk2 with LPS. Little Loco should be mucho good.

@audphile1

Going by the photo of your system (how did you post it, BTW?) you are a much more serious audiophile than I am. Your setup looks like it could be in a show. Mine is just integrated into a writing room that people often sit in who have no interest in my audio system. You also have room tuning stuff on the walls. So, you're kind of in a different league than I am. I'm sure my system would sound a lot better if it were set up like yours. But I'll just have to enjoy it the way it is.
