Wilsons new flagship

I will guarantee you that anyone that orders those will be getting a discount versus MSRP. All it takes is one though. It is like the old fast food economic debate. Would you rather sell one BK Whopper for $1,000,000, or 1,000,000 Whoppers for $4.99? The math might surprise you.

I wonder how many of these Wilson can sell?

it says more about the person complaining about the cost than the company charging the cost. 

Maybe I am getting old but Wilsons new flagship $780k  and they feel it is justified,

1. They are at the cutting edge using science and measurements to create the best they can
2. After created to their best of knowledge, the already done research seems to always trickle down to lower cost offerings
3. You’re not their target market. No need to feel offended or affected in any way. There are MANY luxury goods that’s unaffordable to most: luxury cars, mansions, yachts, Lear jets.. Personally, I avoid envy like a plague because it only leads to negative feelings
4. I’ve visited the Magico factory- very impressive as they use the late tools and technology including a custom sound room for testing - they are not trying to rip off customers, but their operations cost $ do must be covered by profit from sales in our small niche high-end audio market. Running a business and making a living is not inexpensive.
5. It’s simply audio engineers expressing their knowledge and creativity the best they can while constraint by the very small target market and covering their costs
6. It’s not simply gauging the customer - operation costs must be covered to stay in business 

After demoing many speakers at audio stores and audio shows like AXPONA, my preference was Magico and YG. Unfortunately my budget is relatively modest. I demoed the Magico A5 and Rockport Atria at AXPONA, but they sounded poorly due to hotel and setup room conditions. Instead, I purchased the AXPONA demoed speaker Vimberg Mino D after my dealer negotiated a much lower price as I raised my budget.

It's the state of the art. Like a $4m hypercar. Let the great world spin.
