I see Monitor Audio 7G speakers are on sale. Are they due for a refresh?

I have the Silver500 6gs and I really like them. They have a 5” midrange and the 7gs have a 3” midrange. I wonder what size midrange the 8gs will have? I like the 5” midrange because it gives more body and weight to tom toms giving them a more realistic sound. The 7gs were supposed to be more transparent but the midrange was slightly recessed. I’m using Cardas Clear Cygnus cables which match very well with my speakers and give them a very balanced sound.

@robert53 interesting. I like the idea of a 5" midrange. Maybe the 8g will have that. 

Agree it’s a good deal.

For some, they often worry that the grass is greener on the other side. But it’s expected Monitor Audio will always periodically come up with new models. Best to choose once then not be concerned when new models are released.
