Dear @billstevenson : My reference always is live MUSIC seated at near field position and listening at live SPL.
You know what? Warm just does not exist down there.
Now,in home room/systems each one of us choose the everykind distortions developed by each system. W can't avoid those distortions/added colorations.
MUSIC is accurated: pentagram/diagram scores, harmonics, orechestra instruments sound same " tone " to start. Nothing is at random.
In my system I don't like those added ( everywhere and every kind ) " colorations " so I try harder to left at minimum.
In that way Ilistened warm when the recording engineering/producer and the like recorded that way that LP.
Your TTs comparison you posted could have several reasons to what you listen is happening: maybe different cartridges on each TT, better damped Technics magnesium tonearm and headshell that the Denon build materials.
Both TTs are really good and one reviewer said that that Denon model competes with his Technics SP10MK2.
Btw, accurated does not means " analitical " or " excessive detail "only means : accurated and if you make what I did it in my system you always be enjoying MUSIC better than ever before because your system willsound fullemotional, great transient response, excellent rhytm, no fatiguated ears jus astonished/outstanding and no matters if the room/system is truly expen$$ive or just normal to your budget.
The name in the analogue audio is not $$$$$$ ( of course that $ always is important ) butknowledge and skills each one of us levels that changes according each one ignorance level.
Regards and enjoy the MUSIC NOT DISTORTIONS,
R
