I'll be interested as well. although O'm not in the 200k league. Just dealing with my brother's death (no will) and it's got me thinking about this. I'm thinking of starting to get rid of things now so my wife is stuck dealing with so much.

Many dealers offer this service, however quietly. The problem is that it’s difficult to know now who might be able to provide that service when your estate’s executor would need it. I think the best approach is for your will to direct that the equipment can be liquidated - that frees your executor from a major burden. Informally, you can leave a list with him or her mentioning a dealer or person that he might contact for help. But I think it best to leave it all at the option of the executor. Sadly, it will likely be sold off for pennies on the dollar.

Our high-end audio is a very small niche market and components are expensive. As such, it takes time to sell audio equipment to buyers who want and can afford. Buyers are few.

To liquidate, I would contact The Music Room to see what they’ll take to dispose of marketable components asap. The remaining components require time to sell or a very deep discount.
