Items from audiophile's estate, list and photos link provided; helpful advice appreciated!

Hello,

I'm tasked with selling audio equipment from the estate of a late friend. I'm hoping to sell it all as a lot, but may have to list the best of the items individually. For pricing, I tried to find similar items at "SOLD" prices. I then reduced my price by 50% since I haven't tested any of the equipment. I want to be very fair, but the goal, of course, is to help with my friend's final expenses. I'd appreciate any constructive comments; thank you!

Thank you curiousjim and markcasazza! Thank you both for your kind words and advice. I'll refer back to your messages as I move forward with trying to sell the items individually.

I noticed that one or two of the recorders is similar to the type that Alan Lomax used when he traveled around recording folks songs and so on in the 1930s onward.

I hope you both have a great week! Thanks again!

I would look at calling The Music Room in Erie CO and hearing if they could help by selling on your behalf. They are the largest seller of used HiFi and should be able to give you a great insight into pricing and options. They also remove a lot of the hassles involved in disposing of HiFi.

If all else fails, as @sparksgja says, TMR is your default. Of course they will cherry-pick. But they do make things easy. Get it boxed and they whisk it from your doorstep, no shipping costs.

Thanks sparksgja and hickamore!  I'll check with The Music Room and see what they think. I need to get to get some things sold so we can finish paying the funeral home and so on. Thanks for the thoughts! Have a great week!

Search n learn that a $1m system went for maybe 15% of that in a well organized auction… the unknown status of each component is a talisman to value. TMR is good for the more modern gear.
I am truly sorry for the loss of your friend
