Seeking advice about vinyl vs CD.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the music.

I'm trying to decide: should I get rid of (sell, give away) my Classical LPs and listen to Classical CDs/stream (not vinyl )?

The issue: although I like Classical music, I listen to other music most of the time. I'm not familiar with it. Classical 10%. Jazz, Rock, etc 90%.  Mostly vinyl.

I have about 300 Classical LPs. The hoarding side of me say's to keep it!

The practical side says, listen to CDs and stream when the urge hits. This makes needed space for other things.

Advice is appreciated.

Several key factors are in play here. The level of your analog/digital gear, the investment of time(cleaning/analog set-up) and the condition of the vinyl. FWIW you might be surprised by the amount of space a large CD collection takes.

Easy choice for me. CD all the way. I use streaming most of the time as the choices are endless, but when I hear something that strikes my fancy I get it on CD. As stated previously we can't make the determination for you, but it sounds like you may have made your mind up even if subconsciously.

I have tried to sell/trade some really nice Deutsch Gramophone and London Phase 4 classical LP's and nobody wants to buy them for retail re-sale. You may have to go to eBay or Etsy to find buyers.

I think you may be stuck with them so enjoy!

Keep them both as you can alternate between cd,lp,streaming.you never know when a emp hits and you have to get out the hand crank Victoria playing the flight of the bumblebee😄.enjoy the music and all the stuff. Enjoyment is not hoarding no matter what my shrink says.

Self ask, self answer, but I will try and help the thought process.

If I heard you right, you are keeping your vinyl channel for non-classical listening.

Apparently, you also already own classical CDs, though don't listen to those much either?

Is there a possibility you expect to live to where yiu again want to hear more classical? Favorite classical?
