Reynaud Bliss Jubile vs Cantabile Jubile

Update on my listening space:

I realized I missed an important detail about my room. While the direct listening area is about 2.2m wide, there is an additional open space (approximately 2m x 3m) on the left side of my listening position — essentially an L-shaped living room. This open area extends to the left of where I sit, which likely helps with bass decay and reduces standing waves.

So my effective listening space is not a narrow 2.2m rectangle, but a larger L-shaped area. I hope this clarifies why I'm now seriously considering the Orfeo Jubile despite the 2.2m width at the speaker/listening zone.

As long as you can give the Orefeo's some breathing room to the rear and don't crowd the one speaker to close to the wall they should work fine in your room.  As to whether or not they will work with the amplifier you have driving the Cantabile's is another story but it is certainly worth a try.  I have easily driven the Bliss Jubilee and Abcisse Jubilee in a 9'x17'x26' room with an EL-34 amp.  The main concern for me with the swap if you have not had a chance to listen to the Orfeo in person is whether or not you will be ok with the change from the soft dome tweeter of the Bliss to the AMT of the Orfeo,  Though both of my Reynaud's are trully excellent speakers I have a decided preference for the presentation of the Bliss Jubilee.  I had a friend who owns the Bliss Jubille's with Magic Stands accompanied by twin subs.  He recently had the Orfeo Grande's in his house for over three weeks,  While he appreciated all of the things the OG's can do in terms of bass depth, size of the presentation and scale that the Bliss' can't do in the end he decided to stick with the Bliss/sub combo and pass on the OG upgrade.  The deciding factor to him was the presentation of the Bliss tweeter. So from my perspective it comes down to the difference in presentation of the Bliss/Cantabile vs the Abscisse/Orefeo line and if your current amp is not sufficient to drive the Orfeo's are you prepared to move to a bigger tube amp.

I have never heard the Cantabile Jubilee in person so all I have to go on is what I have read from owners and from Bob Neill.  Both of these models harken back to the voicing of the speakers designed by the father rather than the voicing favored by Jean Claude. With the dual low frequency drives in a bigger cabinet with a longer transmission line you should get a lower bass cutoff and getting the tweeter out of the main speaker cabinet should be another advantage.  By the time you add stands you are taking up the same floor space with both models but arguably spending a bit more money up front.  The only other speakers I have owned that have the same level of emotional involvement as the soft dome Reynaud models were the models from Verity.  The original models released by Jean Claude after taking over for his father lost that emotional factor that he is now trying to recapture with the Jubilee versions.  But after a couple of years with the Abscisse Jubilee in the main system I wanted a full range version of a speaker that captured that old Reynaud magic so I bought and loved the Verity Otello's for over five years.  I recently upgraded to a mint used pair of a higher Verity model, the Arindal and my friend that sent the Orfeo Grande's back bought my Otello's. So again unless you have actually heard and loved the Reynaud models with the AMT I wouldn't assume that moving up the line to one of them is a logical next step.  Again that's just my personal perspective on the line.
