Reynaud Bliss Jubile vs Cantabile Jubile

Has anyone here heard the latest iterations of these two soeakers and can describe the differences. I've read Bob Neill's write-up of these two on his website, but the descriptions are a bit hard for me to grasp, perhaps not specific enough for me. They're also written by someone who is trying to sell them. I'd like to hear from those who might not have as much of stake in the game. Bob does think the Cantabile is the better speaker, but is it a small improvement or a significant one?

It's also hard to find reviews on these. There are a couple out the, but not comparing to each other.

Thanks for any insights here.

Hi Jackd

My JMR Cantabile Jubile journey with dual REL S/510 and Audio Note Jinro

It made me so happy to see others discussing the JMR brand!

I’ve been using the JMR Cantabile Jubile for quite a while and have been very satisfied. Initially, I felt the Cantabile’s low end could be a bit lean for my liking, as it tends to present a tighter, cleaner bass, which can sometimes trick the mind into thinking there’s a lack of it. So, to extend the low-frequency foundation without losing its musicality, I added a pair of REL S/510 subwoofers. The bass is now rich, deep (down to 20Hz), and seamlessly integrated.

My current setup is as follows:

· Speakers: JMR Cantabile Jubile (bi-wired with Viard Audio HD 20 speaker cable)
· Subwoofers: 2 x REL S/510
· Amplifier: Audio Note Jinro (Pure Class A, 20W/ch, tube integrated)
· Listening space: About 2.2m wide x 6.5m long

With the current setup, especially after tweaking the S/510 to +1 volume notch above default, the whole presentation opened up with more width and detail. The Cantabile’s strengths really shine through—it’s extremely delicate and clear, yet never analytical, a perfect match for tubes. It feels like a very cohesive, musical system that I thoroughly enjoy.

Now, I’m contemplating an upgrade to the JMR Orfeo Jubile. Would you recommend this move? My main concern is my listening space (2.2m wide). Does anyone have experience placing these in a smaller or narrower room? Would it be too much for a 2.2m-wide space?

I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Update on my listening space:

I realized I missed an important detail about my room. While the direct listening area is about 2.2m wide, there is an additional open space (approximately 2m x 3m) on the left side of my listening position — essentially an L-shaped living room. This open area extends to the left of where I sit, which likely helps with bass decay and reduces standing waves.

So my effective listening space is not a narrow 2.2m rectangle, but a larger L-shaped area. I hope this clarifies why I'm now seriously considering the Orfeo Jubile despite the 2.2m width at the speaker/listening zone.

As long as you can give the Orefeo's some breathing room to the rear and don't crowd the one speaker to close to the wall they should work fine in your room.  As to whether or not they will work with the amplifier you have driving the Cantabile's is another story but it is certainly worth a try.  I have easily driven the Bliss Jubilee and Abcisse Jubilee in a 9'x17'x26' room with an EL-34 amp.  The main concern for me with the swap if you have not had a chance to listen to the Orfeo in person is whether or not you will be ok with the change from the soft dome tweeter of the Bliss to the AMT of the Orfeo,  Though both of my Reynaud's are trully excellent speakers I have a decided preference for the presentation of the Bliss Jubilee.  I had a friend who owns the Bliss Jubille's with Magic Stands accompanied by twin subs.  He recently had the Orfeo Grande's in his house for over three weeks,  While he appreciated all of the things the OG's can do in terms of bass depth, size of the presentation and scale that the Bliss' can't do in the end he decided to stick with the Bliss/sub combo and pass on the OG upgrade.  The deciding factor to him was the presentation of the Bliss tweeter. So from my perspective it comes down to the difference in presentation of the Bliss/Cantabile vs the Abscisse/Orefeo line and if your current amp is not sufficient to drive the Orfeo's are you prepared to move to a bigger tube amp.
