Interestingly, you will see how arbitrarily the moderators police speech deleting the statement got bpoletti POd without doing anything about the condescending diatribe that followed.

@faustuss What a hateful comment.  You know nothing abut me or my system, and that the way I want it.  Music is the ONLY reason for a system.  If that's too hard to understand, then your horizons are limited.

Apparently, he's the self appointed Profile Police.

Pretty abrasive edge to him, as you can see. Wrote this when he checked to see if I had my system listed:

"Of course there's nothing in yours." 

When I asked him what he meant by that he went on to explain how it 'irks' him. I was uncharacteristically diplomatic about his not so veiled insult.

I've reported him with a request to ban him.  

He seems to be the stereotype reason why social has a bad reputation.  If Audiogon moderators are smart, they would give him one chance to fix his comments or be relegated to the nearest landfill.

There has been a lot of research conducted into the nature of wealthy people and it agrees with your experience. Thomas J. Stanley did some of the seminal work on this. In his first book, he wrote how he first started looking for millionaires to interview and began with the big homes in expensive neighborhoods. What he found was that they're often not wealthy at all. Real wealth is not measured strictly by income but by net worth. The big house, the expensive car are often just indicators of debt, not wealth.

There's another reason why those who "have" rarely discuss it. It's simply something that's risky to advertise, because it can lead to requests for donations or loans. That's a common problem for those who win the lottery.

There are wealthy people who take delight in displaying it - even flaunting it. They are typically the nouveau riche, and often face eventual reversal of fortune. Literally.

The Thread has a similarity to a joke once heard about Ron R on a Presidential Trip to Ireland.
