Car audio - not a topic?

My 2016 Lexus LS460L has Mark Levinson speakers and likely system. Sounds okay. Upgrading to Morel is 6k, not worth it because I believe the environment for high Sonics in a car interior will be lacking.

Going back to memory lane, I swapped out stock speakers and dashboard cassette radios to higher quality components. Pioneer was a common speaker or dash upgrades. Alpine and Blaupunkt were the best.  

I once invested in a decent car system.  At the end of a work day I returned to find the driver side window smashed and the system ripped out.  Just not worth it

An Alpine install I did myself, back in the day, when dash boards were straight forward, was the best sound I've ever experienced in a car. I suppose because of the volume that environment allowed, I preferred it to my home Technics system. Early days...

Having tested a few cars in recent days, cabin noise differences are VERY noticeable, even between trims of the same make/model. A frustrating part of the search is that the noise level is understated in most documentation. Salesmen.are grossly uninformed on the matter.

The worst car system I had as far as I can remember was a Mark Levinson branded system.
