Coda 16 Meter Color?

I'm thinking about getting a Coda 16 amp in silver with the meters and I wondered if anybody had an informed preference between the blue and amber meters?  Blue looks snazzy with the silver case but I'm concerned it will be too bright and distracting in the room.

@yyzsantabarbara Your comparison that "The #11 is a bit warmer than the #16 and maybe a slight bit less resolving." is pretty much the way I would describe the Krell 650Ms vs the 16 so I'm going to guess I would like the 16 better than the 11 in my system.  I would also add that the 16 seemed to have a larger and more holographic soundstage vs the 650Ms.

Very interesting. I have a Coda 8, and love it. Bought it used and it came with blue meters. Sounds and looks great. Don't know if I would ever sell it.

I also just received,  2 weeks ago a silver Coda 16 with meters, AMBER, a demo, that I just couldn't pass up, Great price. (STILL Expensive though)  I had to know what the 2 were like together. So listened side by side for a few hours. Coda 8 much warmer, and sounds wonderful. I listen to JUST,  rock and roll. Pink Floyd, YES, Metallica, Elton John, Zeppelin, etc. 85 to 90db, in large room, through special Tekton Encores. (all 175 lbs worth) each.  Great other electronics, Bricasti DAC M1SE  streaming Audirvana. Dual subs The Coda 16 took a while to get used to. It is a little less warm. But, My god: REVEALING and dynamic as hell, impactful. I listened to songs I have played many times. I hate to coin a phrase, but, there was music there, (instruments) that I never remember hearing before. The AMP misses nothing, Articulate Music, sounds!!!!!  I wish I could  say it better. WOW.  I know people always say speakers first, and I agree. A great Amp is 1B. The marriage between my system and this AMP is to die for.  A big price difference between the 2.  Both are fabulous within their price ranges. Robert TN

@robshaw Thanks for that comparison.  I'm a detail, dynamics, soundstage junky so it sounds like the 16 would be the right choice for me.  I've settled on a silver case and white meters.  If I was getting a black amp I think I would have gotten amber.  Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to having it in my system.  Sometime you might try running your Encores with a good 300B amp if you can borrow one.  I had the Tekton Moabs for a long time and an Aric Audio 300B was a great fit for those speakers.  It is a different kind of sound.  Not sure it would be better just different.
