ACCUPHASE d-570S VS. LUXMAN D-07X SACD PLAYERS

Have any members heard either or both of the Accuphase D-570S which retails for about  $14,000 or the Luxman D-07X which retails for about $11,500.00.   I did an AI search comparing the two and AI says that the Accuphase has more substantial import fees than the Luxman. AI also liked the Luxman sound better;  I am not at the point that I will make purchasing decisions based on AI. I use AI as a guide to help me. But I would much prefer to hear the players  myself or obtain opinions from members.   Thank you.

Buy what you can afford and sounds best to you.  Personally, if you want a truly good player, do yourself a favor and get an Esoteric player.  Nothing better for the money.  Even DCS uses their transports.

I have directly compared the Luxman DA07X, the standalone dac that is identical to the dac section of the D-07X player afaik (barring some power supply differences) to the dac section of my Accuphase DP-550 player which is two generations older than the DP-570. The Luxman felt somewhat more refined, with a relaxed and surefooted way of presenting detail, and the separation was a bit better iirc. However, the Accuphase had better tonal density, was weightier and punchier, warmer, more organic (but treble extension was still very good) and to my ears "more musical", I enjoyed it more. I’m not so much in love with the DP550 as a CD/SACD player, it is a bit polite to my ears, but as a dac it’s wonderful. A few years earlier I had also heard the Luxman D-07X’s big brother, the D10X, and it was wonderful both as a player and as a dac. If you go the Luxman route, perhaps you could stretch it to the D10X, it might be worth it.

Of course, hearing these machines yourself is very much indicated, if not even mandatory. Fwiw...

Are you looking at the device to be multiple purpose?  Cd and sacd and also function as a DAC?

I currently have a Accuphase e-5000 amp and have previously owned luxman turntable and amps.  I love the build and sound signature of both brands.   For cd playback as someone mentioned definitely also check esoteric, and i eventually ended up getting a cheaper but it is no slouch, the excellent Shanling scd3.3.  I use this for sacd playback and as a r2r ladder dac for my room/Hqplayer setup.
