Power Cable Suggestions.

I am looking for a new power cable. I am looking into spending anywhere from $300-$500. I am torn between a Furutech Astoria Plus, DH Labs Power plus/cryo and last but hopefully not least, CullenCable Cross Series II. I just learned about CullenCables today and they look very nice. This cable will be used to power up a Naim SN3 or REL T7i. There is Morrow Audio which currently has a 25% off on all their power cables. I need a power cable asap. Any help will be very appreaciated.

Those Cerious Tech look very nice. I might try it even if new. I gave the IceAge cables a try and they were comically terrible. I compared the IceAge Franken to AQ Blizzard and the Franken might as well have been lamp cord. There was a very significant drop in audio quality when I switched from the AQ Blizzard to the IceAge Franken. And I know its not fair to compare the Franken to the Blizzard, but the IceAge man was comparing his cable to the AQ Dragon....

I should have known better, but I was willing to give it a try. Those IceAge cables are on par with Viborg/Monosaudio cables but cost $200 more. In fact, they look almost indistinguishable from them. And I would be willing to compare them against each other in my system and I would not be at all surprised if the Chinese ones perform better. I think I will do that and come back with the results. The CullenCables at least have a very good description. The IceAge ones don't have much to go by, not that it matters because they were terrible!

I can’t say I understand the gravitation towards cables that are made by some DIYer in their basement. You rely on someone voicing their cables in their system as opposed to companies that design cables to be as least intrusive and as transparent as possible. Puzzling but hey it’s your money.

If it’s new you need to give it at least 100 hours of playing time for it to break in otherwise you’re probably not hearing the cable near its ultimate best.  Lotsa cables take a good amount of time to reach peak performance and some don’t sound good at all outta the box.

I got a pair used, but not even 10000000 hours will get these to compete with the entry level AQ or Isotek cables. But him claiming it could compete with the Dragon PC is laughable. He should have said that his cable could hold some ground to the AQ Monsoon. Although there is no way that would be true either, it would have made his cable look better. Its really just junk being sold for $300 when you can easily get one of those "audiophile" Chinese ones on Amazon for $50.

I lost $200 on the pair of Frankens I bought and it doesn't suck too bad. I learned my lesson, in this hobby like all things, you get what you pay for. No one is out doing charity for any of us. It could have been much worse. I could have bought them new for $600. If someone wants these. I can sell them both for $100 shipping included to cut my losses some.
