First I didn't know Harry had passed, may he rest in piece.........It show's how long it has been............I remember dealing with him and his wife and it was a lot simpler then......Times have changed ??  When I call that number , the message says " shipping is unavailable"   That's been my take on VPI forever, you can't get them on the phone, and I have 7 VPI turntables.    I will make my own pulley, I have the equipment to make one...............Thanks for you help..........W

Elliott:   Thank you for your worth-less input, try and put something into the system and maybe you will learn something.......I see after looking at some of your posts that you already know most every thing........So tell me how to get that pulley ??  W

First off, Harry is very much alive and enjoying his semi-retirement.  Second, VPI has been closed for the holiday.  They are back to regular hours.

Curmudgeon perhaps a better word, and I think I spelled it right.

I had already written Steve at VAS and asked him if he has any advice for you. Let’s see his response, hopefully tomorrow.

Step outside, read your posts as if someone else wrote them, get your smile back.

"You’ll need an AC line voltage regenerator with variable frequency that can go up to 105Hz and beyond to play 78rpm with a 45 pulley, since the speed of the synchronous motor is set by the wall outlet frequency. The SDS only goes up to 90Hz.

A good reverse-engineer can perhaps modify an off-the-shelf AC inverter to put out a different frequency, as was done here. "
