There you go. Lots of stuff out there, although, of course, you have to listen to what they give you, which ends up sending me to Discogs late at night! Pretty funny. I lack self control!
Lost Last Classix Rock Station
I put up a 10dB FM antenna that cost $600 and bought a $200 FM tuner. Only one station played classic rock with in 50 miles and shared with the terrible New Age format.. To me New Age all sounds the same and some talk vs sing- just junk. Now, this only station with in 60 miles radius converted to all New Age music. I can not believe the many stations here within 60 miles does not play Classic Rock but there is about 10 New Age stations. I bought a Ocean Wi-Fi internet receiver, The $800 was a total waste of money!

One of the reasons I picked my Vintage McIntosh Tube Tuner/Preamp mx110z was the reviews of it’s excellent FM Tuner. Richard Modaferri said there was nothing he could do to improve it. A strong signal was noted as needed. I put a separate antenna in my attic, aimed at one station: WBGO 88.3, Jazz. Two holes in the ceiling from the attic (1st one missed). Measure twice, cut once. This was Drill Twice, curse once. I learned here, after 911, they moved their antenna to Columbus Circle, I re-aimed my antenna. I have, only as a test, hooked up my laptop and streamed, it sounded good, so internet radio is a good recommendation. I stream my PC usb out in my office, not my main system. |
@howardlee Agree. I only listen to the music I own. I get most of my music from Bandcamp, some from record stores, the odd ball thing from discogs. Don't listen to radio, and certainly don't stream. I just wanted to point OP to the existence of internet radio as radio is what OP prefers. |
@howardlee, great observations an commentary. |
