Lost Last Classix Rock Station

I put up a 10dB FM antenna that cost $600 and bought a $200 FM tuner. Only one station played classic rock with in 50 miles and shared with the terrible New Age format.. To me New Age all sounds the same and some talk vs sing- just junk. Now, this only station with in 60 miles radius converted to all New Age music. I can not believe the many stations here within 60 miles does not play Classic Rock but there is about 10 New Age stations. I bought a Ocean Wi-Fi internet receiver, The $800 was a total waste of money!

Just become a doomsday prepper and look at it as an investment for The end of the world.

FM radio isn't what it used to be and classic rock is disappearing from it. You might try exploring the left end of the dial - sometimes there are surprises there. Otherwise, there's XM, which doesn't sound too bad when streaming.

Boomers are beginning to be phased out of society. Still going to take another 20 years, but those rockers (many of whom are still touring into their 70’s) look old, and thus, are not appealing to the younger crowd. WMMR in Philly, a long time classic rock station, plays harder edged music in lieu of classics. Many other stations who were rock based have also moved into other genres. Noticed that rural stations tend to have the most classic rock-centric programs.

I am about 50 miles from towers of Philly and had an "analog air" expert (not many left) install a smallish directional antenna with a 50db amplifier attached just below the antenna on my roof. Would not recommend doing any type of indoor antenna, or digital antenna, or anything but a directional roof antenna meant to capture a signal and hold onto it. Costs, including install, was $400.

The end result over time (seasons matter) is that the 50db amp was only needed for an older TV, while the newer Sony OLED- with a great tuner in it- does not need the 50db amp turned on at all. I ditched my tuner last year because while the reception and sound was good, I needed rack space and just could not get past commercial breaks.

Investigate internet radio options, which have global reach. Don't have any specific recommendations for you, but worth a look.
