Best concert you've attended

Mine is The Doobie Brothers, at the Civic Center in Amarillo Texas, in 1976. I was 16 years old.

The weed smoked all around us was good  too.

Hard to pick just one, so…

The Temptations & The Four Tops (everyone was on their feet for 4 hours straight! Fantastic!)

Bob James (seen multiple times, always excellent SQ)

Gregory Porter (impressed with how close my system sounded to his concert)

Chris Botti (small venue - really nice & great rapport with the audience)

Al Di Meola - great performance & SQ

Toshiko Akiyoshi Trio - (unplugged, intimate performance)

@rowd - it does get confusing with all those shows! laugh

I forget where it is, but somewhere on the internet is a list of all the shows that took place at Winterland; you should be able to find it. I was at a great many of them myself from Sept '73 onwards.... Bill Graham had enough juice that bands almost always played there on weekend nights. Those would usually be really good bands on those shows, even the support ones.

Did you see Robin Trower there in '74 when Sha-Na-Na was the headliner? Robin tore the roof off the sucker, the place went nuts, and he was demanded back for 3 encores, and these were REAL encores, not pre-planned ones. I don't think many people remained for Sha-Na-Na. Came back to Winterland in '75 and headlined a Day on the Green later that year.

Little Feat in 1973 or 1975 when they were at their peak and Lowell George was on fire.

Bob Marley and the Wailers. Fox theater Atlanta, GA 1979.

I seen many others in my life. This one was by far the best. Almost spiritual

Soft White Underbelly (Blue Oyster Cult) at the Agora Ballroom Hartford CT. June 19, 1982. Only 150 people allowed inside. Stood center stage front row standing room only. Godzilla head right above the stage.

Buddy Guy at the Iron Horse Music Hall North Hampton MA 1991

REO Seedwagon at the Hammeramith Odeon London England May 28, 1985 - strangist concern I ever went to - everyone stayed seated in the seats, no standing, no dancing in the aisles but it was still an awesome experience.
