Hey KJL.....I own the Klipsch Lascala II and likewise prefer lower volumes. Additionally I use the SVS SB2000 as my sub. Obviously the newest rendition of the Lascala is pricey and the older versions suffer from weak side walls and the one box vibration issue which muddies everything. Klipsch obviously realized this and separated the bins and attempted to isolate them with rubber feet between the two bins. Upgrading this separation with something like isoacoustics and get ready for a clarity upgrade. Getting them off the floor onto isolation dollies helped too since my floor is as responsive as a drum skin. But my main point is Lascalas at very low volumes are delightfully crisp and live sounding. The mid range is so lifelike as to shock visitors. All this at under 70db which is kind sad since these speakers if feed a mere single watt are rated at a sensitivity of 105db. Pity the system with any residual hum, buzz, or hiss or any kind. You will be provided an intimate window into your electronics with little veil but as a result every nuance is laid bare in each recording for better or worse. All at 55db. Used market occasionally has them. Klipsch Lascala II.
