Steppenwolf

Someone recently said, "I think it's time we gave Steppenwolf a second listen."

So I am. I bought "Magic Carpet Ride, The Dunhill/ABC Years 1967-1971"

I like it so much that when I was wondering what was in the CDP this morning I thought,

"That's not Steppenwolf! This is BS!"

Does anyone else feel the same?

The lead singer of Steppenwolf, John Kay, has a condition called achromatopsia, which makes him visually impaired and sensitive to light, leading him to wear sunglasses. The rumor about him burning out his eyes from acid use is unfounded and not true.

Thank goodness.

I was beginning to think you were all philistines and that I would have to look for brotherhood elsewhere.

their big hits sound dated (I never really liked magic carpet ride), but a couple of deep tracks hung with me...desperation (humble pie did a killer cover) and easy evil (technically a john Kay solo track, but a great song nonetheless)
