Electrovoice, still in NYC in 1973. I inherited my uncle Johnny’s 1958 Fisher President II console in 1973 https://www.audiogon.com/systems/11420 Fisher used all ElectroVoice drivers, crossover, and L-Pads for the 4 way speakers in it. I wrote Electrovoice Service Dept. 1st, they send me original cut sheets of all the individual components. Later, they rebuilt my T35 horns that I burnt out blasting Iron Butterfly In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida (original 1968, other versions exist) ’https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIVe-rZBcm4&list=RDUIVe-rZBcm4&start_radio=1 Later, when designing the current Rosewood Enclosures and moving the drivers into it, they helped me and my acoustical consultant engineer (from my corporate office projects) design a properly sized rear port that could be open or closed. (open with no wall behind, now, closed with wall behind). Here those 1958 drivers are, the 15" woofers just replaced for the 3rd time, new L-Pads, the T350 Horn Tweeter and CDP 2 way Mid Horn have ’impregnated linen’ drivers, seemingly indestructible, the T350 coils can handle heat better than the original T35’s. The port, unseen, is part of the removable back panel. btw, ONLY on my Reel to Reel Tape, you can hear a drunken slur of ’In the Garden of Eden’ |
AGD. I had an amp malfunction, Alberto sends me a pair to use for a month while he goes on vacation. I send him the broken amps back a month later, he fixes it, upgrades them to MK iIII version, sends them back on complete trust. Oh, yeah, and he changed out the faceplate for me. Truly an upstanding business man,
