One could criticize Neptune fluid for not being exactly neutral cable and for softening the sound a little too much but it is very seductive and powerful with incredible soundstage.
Which version of Neptune power cable have you listened to? Was it the Diamond version? The reason I ask is because, even with my Class A amplifier, there is absolutely no softening in the sound.
I've been using the Neptune Luminist spdif cable (RCA) for eight years between modified Oppo 203 and Lampi GG3 dac, along with High Fidelity magnet adapters (or whatever they are called), and have been very happy. While I use WyWires Diamonds everywhere else, its spdif didn't have the same warmth and clarity of the PAD. I've got a Neptune Diamond Revision spdif soon on the way to compare.
