I just bought Hackney Diamonds and am a little disappointed.  Music is fine but it sounds a little muffled and distorted at the same time.  Sound on "Grrr", that I bought previously, was even worse - muffled precious Charlie Watts drums and poor quality overall.  Yes, "Grrrr" is from the concert, but previous Stones concert records sounded much better.  In addition on the second CD of two CD Hackney Diamonds set third song is unreadable.  I was finally able to rip it going thru this one song for 1/2 hour, but still ended up with some errors.  I would return it, but replacement most likely would be the same (other people complained).  This CD also sounds compressed.  Perhaps LP is different?  How does it sound to you?

I didn't have the issues with my CD of Hackney Diamonds, ripped fine and the sound quality seems good.  Perhaps my old ears need at tune up?  Not one of my favorite albums but as others said, growing on me.

I got two CD set for few dollars more.  I had problem with the second CD (concert).  First CD was fine - no errors.  Both CDs sound over-compressed. Perhaps I have a little too much of echo in the room, but I have many CDs with incredible sound.
Not long ago I bought, per recommendation from fellow Audio-gonner, Christian McBride "Gettin' To It"  and sound is just wonderful - dynamic and very clean in spite of many instruments.

I wonder what do the 80+ year old rebel rockers sing about these days? Is it age appropriate?
