Upgrade from B&W 802D1 to Focal Utopia Scala Evo

If you had the chance to upgrade from  the B&W 802D1 to the  FOCAL UTOPIA SCALA EVO, which would you choose and why?

@onehorsepony I know the feeling. I encourage you to be patient and run the new speakers in for at least 100-200 hrs.

+1 no shortcuts. Besides getting used to the new sound signature, you may also have to reposition your speakers. After the speakers break-in, then decide which sonic direction you wish to go.

I never implied that the dealer did anything wrong. They told me a new pair of Scala Evo's cost them $20,000. So obviously, they can't give me more for mine since Focal does not transfer the warranty

Check out the older D1 B&W’s. The tweeter has ferro fluids that go bad in 10-20 years. The newer b&w’s like the D3 do not use ferrofluids.

I had heard that somewhere before, but could not find anything more about it. I had heard that the tweeter can just stop working or more commonly, the sound of the tweeter starts becoming harsher / harder / more abrasive sounding (i'm not good with describing audio sounds).

Can anyone find a link to any articles that confirm this?
