Hey Slaw, I have respect for Herron gear. I believe that he is no longer in business. I can't tell you how the Herron 360 compares to the Jackpot, because I have never had this line-stage in my system. If I have my facts straight the Herron 360 Reference uses 6922 tubes which are not my favorite regarding tonality and color. I have some of the most highly regarded NOS 6922 and they sit in their boxes in my collection because of what they lack in how they present music. |
@slaw - I've got both the Herron 360 Ref an Aric Audio Super 6SN7. I enjoyed that Herron a LOT over the course of the 5 years I used it and it gave me no trouble, but I was finally so annoyed by the smallest preamp remote I've ever seen or heard of (you can't use a universal remote because of how Keith Herron has that set up) that I decided to look around at some others and found that Aric on USAM used for a good price. For me, in my room with my gear, I preferred Aric's preamp; I even tried an LTA MicroZOTL Level 3, which I preferred to the Herron, but I liked Aric's even better and sold the LTA. All 3 are excellent preamps, though. I've also had some great email conversations with Aric - very cool guy!! |
